About the language, Malaysia's official language is Bahasa Malaysia (Malay Language) but English is widely used. Tioman is sunny and humid almost all year with temperatures ranging between 21°C to 32°C. The monsoon season is in month of September to January. The ideal time to go is between February to October. However, Tioman remains accessible all year long, but between November to January, Tioman will be wet. During this time, heavy downpours are common.

Eating out at Tioman is not an expensive affair in Tioman. You may get many restaurants or even small stalls cook up a multi-exotic Malay cuisines. Western style meals are also available in many of the restaurants and stalls too.

Since there are no commercial banks in Tioman yet, you are advise to make all necessary arrangements before you arrive here. The unit currency use is the Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and cents. Almost all transactions are conducted in cash at Tioman. However, some of the chalets and hotel accepts credit cards and travelers cheques.
